Palestinian Minister of Health Welcomes Wafaa Delegation to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Support of the Health Sector.

The Palestinian Minister of Health, H.E. Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan, received a delegation from Wafaa Microfinance and Capacity Building, including Wafaa’s General Director, Mr. Mohasin Atawneh, and Mrs. Hanin Barghouthi, Public Relations Manager, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation in support of the Palestinian health sector.

During the meeting, the Wafaa delegation presented an overview of their key health interventions and projects implemented across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. These interventions have included the provision of medicines, medical supplies, equipment, and electric wheelchairs to public and private hospitals and healthcare facilities, as well as addressing a range of other critical health needs. These efforts contribute to improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services, particularly in light of the ongoing humanitarian situation.

The two sides also discussed a number of upcoming projects involving the provision of medical equipment and supplies, which are planned for implementation in close coordination with the Ministry of Health and in line with the priorities and evolving needs of the Palestinian healthcare sector.

For his part, H.E. Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan commended Wafaa’s humanitarian and relief efforts, expressing appreciation for Wafaa’s contribution to strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian health sector. He also emphasized the importance of effective partnerships and coordinated efforts between civil society organizations and government institutions to address current challenges and enhance the health sector’s capacity to respond to the needs of the Palestinian people.
