Wafaa Concludes its Ramadan Relief Programs in the Gaza Strip and West Bank Refugee Camps

Wafaa Microfinance and Capacity Building announced the conclusion of its Ramadan relief programs, which were implemented in response to the growing humanitarian needs in both the Gaza Strip and villages and refugee camps in the West Bank. This was made possible through the generous support of its partners from international charitable organizations and associations.

During the holy month, Wafaa implemented comprehensive and various humanitarian interventions, including the distribution of food parcels, shopping vouchers, and Eid clothing. It also prepared and distributed hot Iftar meals, provided clean water, baby formula, and tents, and disbursed sponsorships to thousands of orphans, thus strengthening social protection for the most vulnerable groups.

Throughout Ramadan, Wafaa’s teams continued their intensive fieldwork in the Gaza Strip, distributing thousands of hot Iftar meals daily to displaced families amidst extremely complex humanitarian conditions. This contributed to alleviating their daily suffering and strengthening their resilience.

The response also included the distribution of thousands of food parcels and vegetable packs to displaced families in camps within the Gaza Strip, as well as to affected families in West Bank’s refugee camps, contributing to the food security of targeted families during the holy month.

As part of its efforts to empower families and uphold their dignity, Wafaa distributed thousands of shopping vouchers to vulnerable, affected, and orphaned families in the West Bank, with a particular focus on refugee camps in the northern West Bank. This enabled these families to meet their basic needs according to their own priorities.

Despite the challenges and restrictions on the ground, Wafaa’s teams successfully implemented programs to distribute Iftar meals to fasting people in the Old City of Jerusalem and the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first days of the holy month. This reflects Wafaa’s commitment to reaching those in need across various regions.

These programs were implemented in close coordination and cooperation with the relevant ministries in the Palestinian government, and in partnership with relevant authorities and local committees in the refugee camps, ensuring efficient implementation, equitable distribution, and the promotion of transparency and accountability.

In this context, Wafaa affirms that these interventions are part of its humanitarian mission and ongoing commitment to supporting the most vulnerable groups and strengthening their resilience in the face of exceptional circumstances. Wafaa also expresses its appreciation for the trust of its partners and supporters, whose contributions have been critical in the success of these programs and in reaching thousands of beneficiaries.
