Kuwaiti Humanitarian Visit to Palestine

Wafaa Foundation for Development and Capacity Building in Palestine received today, Saturday, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Matouq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) in the sisterly State of Kuwait and Special Advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General. This blessed visit comes within the framework of a strategic partnership between the IICO and Wafaa Foundation in implementing humanitarian and development programs across Palestine.

During the visit, Dr. Al-Matouq presented gifts to orphaned girls in refugee camps in the West Bank. He praised the significant efforts carried out by Wafaa Foundation in partnership with the International Islamic Charity Organization and expressed his admiration and pride in the Palestinian people’s steadfast belief in their right to freedom, return, and liberation of their land from the brutal occupation.

For his part, Mr. Muheisen Al-Atauna, Director General of Wafaa Foundation, emphasized that the International Islamic Charity Organization is one of the largest supporters of the Palestinian people. He considered this high-level visit as a culmination of continuous humanitarian and development efforts and programs across Palestine—generously and consistently supported by the sisterly State of Kuwait through IICO, which is committed to delivering aid to those who truly need it and strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people. He added that this is not surprising from Kuwait, which the United Nations designated as a global center for humanitarian work.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Minister Nasser Qatami, during his visit to inspect the Student Assistance Project in Palestinian universities and its accompanying programs, stated that investing in quality education is a central concern of Palestinian families. He expressed deep appreciation for the role of the International Islamic Charity Organization in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people under the oppressive measures of the occupation. He also affirmed that the State of Kuwait has always been at the forefront in providing all forms of political and economic support on all platforms, continuing a legacy of giving initiated by the late Emir of Humanity, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and carried forward under His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.
